The Month of May...hem
Oh my goodness gracious.
This summer I stayed in Milledgeville and took classes. Maymester was Physics, June was Organic Chemistry, and July was Anatomy and Physiology. I wanted to take Physics during Maymester because, being the lazy person that I am, didn't want to have to get up for an 8 a.m class all of Fall semester. And so the mayhem began.
Maymester was lecture Monday through Friday and then lab Monday through Thursday. It seemed like it lasted allllll day. I was basically in class from 9-5 every day. Well, except Friday, but I went to work after lecture then so it still felt like a really long day.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "You're the one that signed up for the class. You did it to yourself." True. HOWEVER, the fact that I endured the class gives me the right to bitch about it. So if you're reading this, suck it up or go somewhere else.
The class started off as a whirl-wind. Right off the bat we had about two chapters of online homework a night on top of reading for the next lecture and lab homework. There was a test every Friday, which I consistently failed, and then even more online homework to do over the weekends. It was a mess. I ate, slept, and breathed Physics. And not in a "Yeah I really enjoy this stuff" kind of way but in a "If I don't do this I won't make it out alive" way.
On the bright side, I did make a couple of new friends. One girl in my class asked me one day if I wanted to study after class and we formed a little study group with our other lab partner after that. That was the nice part of the class. Having people that I felt comfortable around so I could ask them a question without feeling stupid. We saw each other so much other the next three weeks that it was hard not to get along.
When Memorial Day finally arrived, I was so relieved. Not only was the class over with, but it meant that when I returned for June, the Financial Aid office [where I work] would be done with the renovations and things would go back to normal. For the most part, they did. People were mostly back in their original spots, but the student worker area was different and a little harder to manage. It's been going okay these past two months, but I want the other girls to be back to help out! I'm tired of it only being me and one other girl working our butts off trying to get things done. Anyway, Memorial Day weekend came and went and I had a great couple of days at home.
And then I went back to school for a whole month of eating, sleeping, and breathing a class, only this time it was Organic Chemistry. Which will be what my next post is about. Get excited!
Also when I was home, I ended up having lunch with just my brother. From what I think I've previously let onto, we don't have the best relationship, so this was a big deal. He ate while I watched, having already had lunch an hour before, and we sat and talked for about two hours after he was finished eating. It was very nice and one of my favorite things about this summer.
